ethical - Sustainable - beautiful
Our products are created with passion and purpose.
Passion
Bali is blessed with skilled, creative artists, wood-carvers and tailors and we are proud of the work from our growing team. Our work environment is one that works for both the company and our employees. We keep things warm, fun and light hearted, whilst making sure the quality and quantity of our production meets high standards. We share a passion in creating beautiful, sustainable products, through ethical business practices.
Purpose
Our goal is to introduce simple practices that can be implemented in our daily lives. In a world where convenience comes in readily available single-use, throw-away plastic, each choice and action we make has a significant impact on our environment. We can’t change our habits overnight, but with small participation we can be a part of the solution.
Zero-Waste
It’s not easy being a zero-waste company, but it’s worth it. All of our materials are used, one way or another. In fact, for some products we even collect waste materials from fabric suppliers. Our trash is reduced significantly by providing meals for staff and anything that does make it into a waste bin is sent to a professional recycling company or turned into eco-bricks.
To us, nothing needs to be thrown away. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Replace, Repair, Refuse, Rethink and if you can’t do any of those, then give it someone who can!

Fair Trade
Low-income countries and their people continue in this day and age to be exploited for the production of goods worldwide. Developed countries look to places like Indonesia, China and India for low cost production. There is little recognition or consideration that extremely low-cost production, means that the person who made your products must continuously struggle to support themselves and their families.
We will not allow this to happen to our people. Our staff are our family and they are supported. We are able to produce products at costs that are more than reasonable to local and international markets and ensure our people have a healthy, rewarding job to come to each day. Anything less would simply not be right.

Community
Local Balinese culture is one of the most in need for education in the dangers of single use plastic. This is a land where in only the past 2 decades plastic has been introduced on a large scale. The mentality still remains stuck in the old way of thinking, that if you throw something away, it is gone for good. The reality is much different and the beautiful ancient waterways of the subak system are now lined with rubbish all the way down from the mountains to the sea, where the beaches and the Island’s surrounding marine life are smothered in plastic waste.
Beyond educating our staff, we work with the local village community (the banjar) to help spread education in plastic waste. We offer that the youth bring us their waste to be recycled or to be taught creative ways they can use it.
Each year we work with Kata Kopi, to run a children’s festival in Ubud, around Indonesia’s National Children’s Day, helping to spread awareness further. Most of our team are from our surrounding villages and word is spreading fast!

Local
We regularly get reminded that it can be cheaper to hire staff in Java, cheaper to source materials from other Islands, cheaper to get things made in China. Cheaper doesn’t matter. Our products are made by local people, from local materials. Our Bamboo is sourced from Jati Luwih, our fabrics from a range of local companies. We help our local communities to grow and in the process we don’t have to make such a carbon footprint.
